Description

Summary: Responsible for the day-to-day quality department as well as the planning, coordination, and implementation all Quality Systems requirements.

Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and implement the Quality Management System and maintain registration to AS9000 and NADCAP standards.
  • Maintains and reports product conformance per engineering and customer specifications through detail component material, work in process and finished good inventories.
  • Reports and tracks deviations from quality standards, recommends corrective actions to management, and reports trends and tendancies at Operational Reviews.
  • Participates in new product development to ensure proper quality systems and controls can be implemented prior and during production.
  • Maintain contact with supply base and perform supplier surveys as required. Review overall supplier quality performance and issues to ensure conformance to customer and industry standards.
  • Review customer concerns via customer contact, print interpretation, industry/customer standards, and inspection of returned materials.
  • Champions continuous improvement across all areas of the business by soliciting input and collaborate on solutions, facilitate change efforts through collaboration, and build consensus for decisions.
  • Formulate and achieve production quality assurance objectives in line with company Key Performance Indicators.
  • Complete and forward quality surveys received form current or potential customers to business development manager for review and completion.
  • Acts as liaison for all matters relating to quality of product.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains an effective quality organization throught the selection, training, compelnsation, motivation, termination and review of all assigned employees.
  • Provides guidance and direction to employees to assist in their professional development.
  • Supervise Quality Inspection, Quality Clinic and Quality Engineering personnel to ensure performance of all internal and external quality system and product requirements.
  • Establishes and presesents regular training for employees on qualitly issues, and develops programs to encourage employees to perform quality requirements as part of all operations.
  • Completes, adjusts and approves payroll for quality department.

  • Oral, Written and Technical Communication Skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and specifications, CAD drawings and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to Work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Operate internal computer systems (Visual, eTraveler, Microsoft Office products).
  • Must pass required eye exam.
  • Customer Service Oriented and Professional demeanor.
  • Basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance knowledge.

Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with advanced degree preferred.
  • Recognized certification as Quality Manager, Quality Engineer and/or Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Five years prior quality management experience using ISO-9001/AS-9100 standards required.
  • Energetic leader with technical manufacturing environment experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of employees in continuous improvement activities -- problem identification, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action development.
